After a successful Collection, many of our charities apply to us for a Grant from the Special Appeal Fund.

Up to £1,000 is available for specific projects or up to £500 towards core operating costs.

Last year we were able to provide help to a number of charities, which included:

• Respite breaks for carers
• A visiting service to families of children with cerebral palsy
• CCTV equipment for housing for the young homeless
• Minibuses for the elderly and disabled
• T-Shirts for a young dance group in a deprived inner city
• A water cooler for MS Therapy Centre
• Family and baby group project to support vulnerable families
• A day trip to the National Arboretum for the Old Comrades Association
• Boat trips for special needs children
• Adaption of a minibus for wheelchair users
• A training programme for bereavement councillors
