After the collection comes the very important business of counting all the money and completing a simple record form.
All the money you have raised must go straight into your charity’s bank account once it has been counted.
It may be possible to arrange for your bank to receive full collecting boxes, and to empty them and count the money, paying it straight into your account and giving you a reckoning of all the results. Unfortunately banks rarely have staff with sufficient spare time to be able to offer this sort of service. If your bank does agree it is important that they do it quickly.
It is far better to take the bull by the horns and arrange a counting afternoon! With your treasurer in charge, with as many helpers as possible and with plenty of tea and buns, the job can be done quite quickly and be quite an exciting event. All the details about recording the proceeds are contained in the information we send out to you just before the collection day.
Last, but not least, remember that your group’s participation in an Alexandra Rose Charities collection is based on the understanding that we arrange and provide everything you need for your collection. Your group keeps the agreed percentage of all the money you raise but you must remit the remaining balance with the appropriate paperwork to us immediately after the collection.
