If you would like to take part in Rose day please read the step-by-step guide explaining how the system works.
- Your charity registers its intention to organise an Alexandra Rose Charities (ARC) collection on Rose day. Registration must be completed as soon as possible each year
- You and ARC agree on your collection area. This could be a particular area in a big town or city, a country town, a village or group of villages, a railway station, an out of town supermarket etc
- ARC will then ensure the appropriate legal licenses and permits are available for you
- ARC will assist with arrangements for special collections in supermarkets, London rail and bus termini and underground stations etc and arrange public liability insurance cover
- Well in advance of the event your organisation will have to recruit as many volunteer collectors as possible to maximise the results of your collection. The more collectors the more money raised!
- Before the date of your event ARC will provide a draft press release for your local media, which you can submit or ARC can e-mail direct to media of your choice eg local newspapers and radio stations
- At the same time ARC will provide you with copies of any permits you need and the forms (and clear instructions for their completion) needed to report your collection results
- ARC will provide a suitable number of: roses, collection boxes, baseball caps and sashes as well as posters and stationery in good time for your collection
- After the collection you will need to complete our simple report form and send it to us with a cheque for 10% of your proceeds
- ARC will acknowledge your cheque and complete all the returns and accounts needed by the licensing authority, have them audited and submit them
- After your collection, and subject to our qualifying criteria, you will be able to apply for an additional grant from our Special Appeal Fund, for any purpose connected with your work in the community
