The Rose Bike Ride

05 September 2010

Join us for a fun day's bike riding through the stunning Alice Holt Forest and give something back at the same time. All proceeds go to Alexandra Rose Charities.

We strongly urge you to follow these rules:

  • Wear a helmet
  • Make sure your bike is roadworthy, safe and serviceable.  Farnham Cycles can prepare your bike for you before the day of the ride.  james@farnhamcycles.co.uk
  • Obey all instructions given by Route Marshals
  • Keep your distance from the bike in front - in other words Go Carefully.
  • The route passes through a beautiful area so please leave it as you found it.  Do not drop litter.

Disclaimer

All riders in the Rose Bike Ride do so entirely at their own risk.

Alexandra Rose Charities and their agents cannot accept any responsibility for personal accident, loss or damage to cycles, equipment and personal effects or any public liability.

Children under 16 MUST be supervised throughout the ride.

Before the Ride

After your entry form has been accepted and processed you will receive a 'rider pack' via email containing:

  • Safety Instructions and Rider Information including a link to a relevant map of the route.
  • A sponsorship form if you feel you would like to raise funds for Alexandra Rose Charities.
  • Instructions on how to pay in the funds you raise.

On the Day of the Ride

  • Registration will start at 9.30am prompt for the Elite Riders and 10.00am for those who wish to take it more gently !  Please check-in on arrival.  You will then be given your rider number - please remember to bring safety pins.
  • Additional riders will be able to enter on the day so please bring payment with you.
  • There will be a couple of refreshment stalls positioned along the route but you might want to bring some drinks with you, especially if is a hot day.  Still drinks are best and we strongly advise against drinking alcohol before or during the ride.
  • Please feel free to bring a picnic if you fancy stopping off during the ride - after all this is a fun day out, not a race.
  • Make sure your bike is roadworthy, safe and serviceable and DON'T FORGET YOUR HELMET.

During the Ride

  • It is not a race - the aim is to enjoy it and raise money for Alexandra Rose Charities.
  • Be considerate of other riders, particularly at the start where everyone is bunched together.
  • If you have a younger rider with you and have agreed to supervise them, they are entirely your responsibility.  Don't ride off ahead and leave them, even if they are a little slower than you would prefer.
  • If your bike breaks down or if you want to pack up, stay with your bike by the side of the route until a Marshal arrives.  Please don't go home without telling a Marshal or we could spend a lot of time looking for you !
  • When you arrive back please check-in with Ride Control.

The days following the ride

  • If you had sponsorship, please gather the money from your sponsors as quickly as possibly and pay in .........
