New Year's Day "Killer Pool" raises £100 for Alexandra Rose Charities.

Jez Fisk and Chris Andrews, both local plumbers decided to join Nick Brown who is an environmental monitor from the Hogs Back and seven other friends for a game of "Killer Pool".  The three said "it was a very grey day and what better way to start a new decade than to get together with a group of friends and raise money for charity".  The group are all members of the Elstead Royal British Legion Club and managed to raise an impressive £100 for Alexandra Rose Charities.

All of the funds raised will be put into the 2010 Special Appeal Fund which gives grants to small charities under the Alexandra Rose umbrella.  This will go to help support those in need including the young, terminally ill, homeless and ex-service men and women.

Membership of the Elstead Royal British Legion Club is open to all, please contact Ken Balchin on 01252 702195 for further information.
