Spectacular Sissinghurst
The Dystonia Society's Outing to Sissinghurst
On Saturday 24 April, we had our very first group outing ! 16 members and friends set out from Croydon by mini coach and went to Sissinghurst Castle in Kent.
It was a perfect English summer's day and we all thoroughly enjoyed wandering round the beautiful gardens created by Vita Sackville West and Harold Nicholson in the 1930's. Some members were energetic enough to climb the very steep steps to the Tower where they had a magnificent view over the Kent countryside - others just enjoyed the many different parts of the garden and the opportunity of being together in such a lovely place.
Our thanks to Alexandra Rose Charities for helping us have such a good time, as we were able to use funds from our Special Appeal Fund grant towards the cost of the trip.
We now have to plan our next day out !
