Volunteering

Alexandra Rose Charities and all its partner charities spread across the UK would welcome your help.

This could be by helping a charity with their Street Collection or giving a few hours a month to some specific project they are doing. Our charities cover a wide range – riding for the disabled, children’s activity clubs, bereavement counselling, sailing for special needs children – by volunteering you could offer your skills, whether it be IT, gardening, sport or just lending an extra hand.

Last year, one veteran charity’s members were too infirm to collect and were desperate for some younger legs to give them help on their Collection Day. Their monthly lunch club gives a day out and companionship for some very lonely people and they rely on their annual collections to fund this. Local schools were asked to help and after a plea in their local paper, they managed to recruit some collectors and even found a handyman to keep their clubhouse in good repair.

For schools and colleges, Alexandra Rose Charities offers an ideal opportunity to get involved at a local level and have some fun and meet new friends as well.

Alexandra Rose Charities also puts on their own events to raise funds (see ARC Events). This year such events included a Bowling evening, a City dinner with London Festival Opera and in the coming months there will be a Ladies Lunch at the Royal Thames Yacht Club in Kensington and a Golf Day at the Berkshire Golf Club. Helpers at these events are always needed.

Please get in touch if you could help a small charity with its collection or at one of our Events. Telephone 01252 726 171 or email enquiries@alexandrarose.org.uk and we will put you in touch with the appropriate person.
